Summer’s End

It's the time of year we start saying goodbye to the college and high-school crew members who are here just for the crazy hazy days of summer. We had a bonfire send off this past Friday -  -flaming red to match the couple of fall leaves that have tuned up on the farm’s east facing hills.  These folks have planted, weeded, mulched, moved, baled, washed, packed, cared for and cooked the food we produce all season long. They complete a lot of the “heavy lifting” of the farm season even though they are here for only part of it. We are so grateful for their grit, dedication, hard work and the great joy they bring to this work. We will miss them and look forward to seeing lots of them again next season.

Our Cookeville Market will be loaded with freshly harvested baby lettuce, kale, chard, green beans, cabbages, cukes, hot and sweet peppers, green onions, beets , new potatoes, tomatoes, basil and other fresh herbs, fresh sweet red and white onions  and FRUIT -  we have peaches from  Connecticut and watermelon from our friends at Root 5 Farm!

As always, we will be stocked with our pastured eggs,  grocery staples, local milk, yogurt , ice cream, cheeses, fresh goodies from Marilyn and a freezer full of our very own pastured meats. We have both steak and parted chickens back in stock!

It's tomato time and we have bulk boxes of tomatoes for all your summer kitchen projects - $15-20 each. Pick up the basil, garlic and oregano too!

We have LOADS of FREE Covid Tests from the Vermont Center for independent Living - come by and pick up some free tests anytime we are open.

Open Wednesday thru Friday 8:30am till 6pm and Saturday 8:30 till 3pm.

Pizza Night continues this Saturday at the farm with woodfired pizza with farm raised toppings, craft beer, cider, wine and meade, fresh salad and yummy seasonal desserts. Music this week is from  Foot Works - inspired by the high-energy Celtic music of Cape Breton, Footworks features a dynamic blend of powerful rhythms and red-hot fiddling. Seven Stars Arts describes Footworks as a band with “Fabulous, engaging energy,” whose impeccable timing and deep connectedness as a group make it impossible for audiences to keep still. Footworks' haunting songs, rollicking fiddle, lovely Irish whistle, and driving guitar accompaniment make for a delightful and unforgettable experience. Reservations Required - email info@crossmolinafarm.com or call the farm at 802-439-3358.
