Big Week - Big Tent
It was a long and hot week at the farm and we did everything from lots of animal and plant care for the super hot days to major harvests and plantings in the wee morning hours before it got too hot, a huge amount of hay and, at the end of week, we figured out how to set up our new circus tent so our pizza night guests could be dry and festive for our Summer Solstice Pizza Night - which was fabulous! Big shout out to our fabulous farm crew for sticking with it and bringing their energy and good humor to the tasks at hand - no matter how hot !
Our Cookeville Market will be loaded with freshly harvested baby lettuce and kale, chard, broccoli, snap peas, cabbages, cukes, zucchini, snap peas, green onions and garlic scapes! As always, we will be stocked with grocery staples, local milk, yogurt , ice cream, cheeses, fresh goodies from Marilyn and a freezer full of our very own pastured meats. Open Wednesday Through Friday 8:30am till 6pm and Saturday 8:30 till 3pm.
Pizza Night continues this Saturday at the farm (under the big top tent) with woodfired pizza with farm raised toppings, craft beer, cider, wine and meade, fresh salad and yummy seasonal desserts. Music this week is from Pointe Noir - a band steeped in the traditions of the Louisiana Bayou - who will serenade us with an uplifting combination of exciting dance music, country songs, and Cajun tunes from Lafayette and beyond.
