Green Giant
Ahh - Spinach is back and oh how we have missed her! By far our most reliable green (if all goes well we have spinach from now until it gets too hot next June) she is versatile, hearty and delicious. Starting with limited quantities this week but we are beginning to tear out summer crops from our greenhouses and spinach will be coming up in full force very soon!
Aside from Spinach - Fresh Produce at the Cookeville Market this week includes Silver Queen Sweet Corn, the first apples and pears of the season and a full array of freshly harvested baby lettuce, kale, rainbow chard, leeks, cabbages, cukes, hot and sweet peppers, scallions, beets, winter squash, potatoes, tomatoes, basil and other fresh herbs, garlic and onions.
As always, we will be stocked with our pastured eggs, grocery staples, local milk, yogurt , ice cream, cheeses, fresh goodies from Marilyn and a freezer full of our very own pastured meats.
It's Tunbridge Fair week (and the kitchen crew needs a little R and R ) so we will have a limited Farm to Take Out menu this week.
Look for a full menu of fall favorites next week!
The Market is open Wednesday thru Friday 8:30am till 6pm and Saturday 8:30 till 3pm.
